Commission Information

  1. Prices not negotiable.

  2. Other custom frame sizes available - contact the artist.

  3. Frame INCLUDED in price - All paintings are professionally framed and "ready-to-hang" at no additional charge. The artist will select the frame that he feels will best compliment each painting.

  4.
  5. Fees shown reflect all paintings being created in the recognized "alla prima" style of the artist. Special requests to the contrary will respectfully not be considered. Specifically, Pinch does not attempt to create a photo-realistic rendering of your chosen photo but rather approaches each commission as he would a gallery piece which is to create a meaningful and suggestive painting of the subject as opposed to a highly detailed one. However, an accurate likeness will be achieved.

  6. Only the finest archival materials such as professional grade oil paints, linen canvas and specially prepared wood panels are used for all paintings which will remain in premium condition for upwards of 800 years with proper care.

  7. A one-third deposit is requested prior to commencement with balance due upon completion.

  8. Not Included in Price - Fees do not include sales tax or shipping where necessary. Additional fees may apply when travel outside Southern California is required by artist.

Group Purchase

One purchase idea that has proven to be very popular is to divide the cost of the commission between a group of people. Quite often this allows a great painting idea to immediately move forward.

By way of example, family members could commission a portrait of their parents as an anniversary gift or for some other special occasion. This resource-pooling approach also makes sense for a group wedding gift or for a select group of individuals from a membership to commission a portrait of their club president or founder. The list of subject matter is virtually endless and it allows for each member of the group to feel a sense of pride and ownership of a worthwhile accomplishment. This group of individuals are often recognized as donors of the painting at the time of the presentation or unveiling.

Commissioning A Painting

It is recognized by Pinch that commissioning a custom painting from him is a substantial decision. He takes supreme care throughout all phases of the process, including stretching his own canvases and preparing his own wood panels, and frames each completed artwork himself.
